in dancing when there’s music [or when the mood strikes you… like when you’re cooking or driving]
that you can be moody but shouldn’t let it affect your relationships
that sometimes a bad mood seeps into your relationships, and the best thing you can do is apologize
a great glass of bourbon or wine
naps and fluffy blankets
in spending too much time with your friends and family
in turning off your phone
in listening to old music
in working out but then heading to brunch after [it’s called balance]
we shouldn’t always worry about the future
that lazy Sundays are necessary every once in a while [like at least once a week]
finding your style, and buying pieces that fall into that category vs what’s trendy right now
everyone should find someone who loves you. all of you. exactly as you are.
everyone should find friends who love you. all of you. exactly as you are.
What about you? What do you believe in?
Alright, so I’ve just returned from a week-long vacation and I’m sorry to say that I honestly don’t think I have enough to recap on one topic in particular that would make this blog post interesting (how’s that for an introductory line… are you intrigued?). I do, however, have a few things that I’ve been thinking about that I’d love to share and ask your opinion on.
As I said, I have been in Colorado for the last week and each day we went for several walks, hikes, or bike rides. Needless to say my legs have never been more toned. Now that I’m back in my normal routine I want to make sure that I don’t lose the muscle I gained. Because of this I’ve been looking for a good leg workout that will keep my muscles in mountain shape. Do you guys have any leg work outs that you swear by? I run and use the elliptical, but I’m wondering if my lovely readers might know of something I should be doing?
I’m currently obsessed with this song by Lorde. She is a 16-year-old girl from New Zealand and has an amazing voice. Once you hear this song, I swear you will have this on repeat.
My sister is almost 6 months pregnant and I have about a billion baby showers to attend. I know for a few I’ll go off her registry, but I’m looking for ideas anyone may have for cute baby shower gifts that not everyone gives… Any ideas?
Since last week I posted the photo of my large and in charge family from a few years ago, I wanted to share the photo we had of all 22 grandchildren from this year. I can’t say enough about how amazing my family truly is. So I guess this is just to show them my love! : )
I promise next week I’ll have more to report.
Have I bored you yet? I swear next week will be spectacular… or at least moderately better than this.
Alright, so today I turn 25. Yes, I know it’s not a big scary age, nor is it even that old. I think the only thing that gets to me is what I how growing up 25 seemed so far away.
Don’t get me wrong, I love where I am at right now. I have an incredibly supportive family, friends who I don’t think I could ever live without, an incredibly caring boyfriend and a job I love. I think it is just that the entire time growing up, 25 seemed like such a “big girl” age and now that I’m here it doesn’t seem that grown up.
I’ve been joking with my friends all week about how I can start to feel my hips give out.
Aside from the age, I really love birthdays! I love that you can get everyone together and see people you normally don’t get to see. I love balloons, cake and eating at really fun places. Birthday’s are so much fun for me! I always feel like I’m back in my childhood, counting down the hours until my friends come over for my birthday party. The anticipation that builds up before everyone arrives, making the gift bags, opening presents and of course, eating the pizza I always requested for my party!
This year was a little different and a bit more subdued, but I loved every second of it. I had all of my friends over on Saturday and the boyfriend make the usual owl cake. (3 years running and he just keeps getting better)! And then Sunday my family came over to our new apartment.
Needless to say, I think 25 will be a great year!… or as I like to call it, my 4th anniversary of my 21st birthday! ; )

This week and weekend have truly gotten the best of me. It has been a frustrating last few weeks, but I am finally back on track.
I think if this experience has taught me anything, it’s that I’m still learning…
Thank you to all the friends and family who have been there for me. You’ll never know how much I appreciate your support.
I’d like to take the time to give thanks for everything I have in my life.
I’m thankful for my family. They are always there to make me smile and (as cliché as it sounds) have turned from family into my best friends. This doesn’t just include my immediate family, but also my cousins, aunts and uncles, and grandparents. They truly are an amazing group of people who I am lucky to be related to.
I am thankful for my friends. They have always been there for me and without them I honestly am never happier than when I get to spend time with them.
I am thankful for my boyfriend, who constantly supports me.
I am thankful for those who are not with me today. They have taught me so much and I am so grateful for the love they showed me and the lives they touched while they were around.
Finally, I am thankful for long runs… they never fail to take my mind off anything that might be bothering me and give me a chance to reflect.
What are you thankful for?
