It has been a fun week so far, and this weekend Steve and I are headed to Michigan for my cousin’s wedding. I am so excited to spend the weekend with my family hanging at the pool, playing wiffle ball, and seeing my cousin marry a wonderful girl! Now that it’s almost the weekend, I wanted to share some of my favorite things that make the weekends amazing!
Currently crushing on Elle King’s song Ex’s & Oh’s:
Favorite Outfit Inspiration (all I want is a full flirty skirt…now!):
Favorite Food– Food Trucks Downtown MPLS:
Favorite Drink– Bourbon Side Car :
What about you? What things are going to be making your weekend even better?
This week has been incredibly fun for me! It’s been in the 60’s which has allowed me to finally get outside and enjoy our new neighborhood. We also are puppy sitting my parents dog so I’ve been spending any non work time exploring the parks around our house. I honestly feel most like myself when I can get outside, open up the windows in the house and sip wine with a puppy by my side! I’ll be spending my weekend having an impromptu dinner party, trampolining, going on a road trip and visiting family. With this good mood comes some blog inspiration, so without further ado… here are my Friday Favorites…
Favorite Splurge (Kate Spade Weekender Bag (if i could)):
Favorite Food (Bacon Wrapped Cinnamon Rolls… so sinful!):
What about you? What have been your favs from this week?
Hey! Did you guys know that it’s fall?! I know! I think I may be the first person to point that out to you (ahh sarcasm… you are a good friend to me).
Well since Steve and I bought our house in March, this is our first fall at our new home! And I have to tell you, we are seriously enjoying it!
We raked the yard for the first time, and although that in itself is not a fun job, leaf jumping is!
Graceful, no? haha
To continue with our “fall theme” Steve and I spent last night carving our first “front step” pumpkin! It is way more fun to do when you get to annoyingly display it on your front step for the whole neighborhood to see vs. your apartment neighbors. It definitely makes it feel more like Halloween!
Plus, on Sunday Steve went skydiving with my brother and brother-in-law for my brother-in-law’s 30th birthday! Never have I ever been more terrified and exhilarated all at the same time!
They all had an absolute blast, and I enjoyed staying safe on the ground watching them flip and glide their way safely down to earth. Phew!
Also, I have two songs I’m currently obsessed with and the two couldn’t be more different. The first, is Gooey by Glass animals. It’s a very odd song, but even though it takes a while to understand the lyrics, the beat is so fun! (excuse the somewhat pornographic nature of the music video. NSFW unless you minimize the video)
The second one is Geronimo by Sheppard and it’s just a fun upbeat tune!
What about you lovely readers? What have you been up to this unseasonably warm fall season?!
Sorry I’ve been on posting hiatus, but it has been a crazy past few weeks. Work has been exploding in my face this past week, but in a good way! But I feel that I can finally breathe and give an update! So, here it goes…
The boy and I have been house hunting for a few months now and are finally finding ones we like! We’ve narrowed down our choices, but realize that we still need to be critical about them since it is such a big purchase. It’s like my dad always says, “Never be afraid to walk away from a house.” So I’m trying not to get too invested in any one house, but when you find one that seems to fit all of your needs, it’s a little hard not to be sooooo excited!
Do you have any tips for a successful house hunt?
This weekend one of my best friends and college roommate is coming to visit! I haven’t seen her since her wedding, so I’m looking forward to a few girls nights and enjoying a relaxing weekend.
They are gold plated trays with chalkboard paint on the inside! I have absolutely no idea what I am going to use them for, but I’m pretty excited!
I also added some glitter and chalkboard paint to this mason jar!
The boy and I attended a Wild game last week and had the pleasure of sitting in the 12th row!!! Never again will we be so close!
Along with all the craziness that has been my week, one of my roommates lost his job, so we have been doing our best to console him. We’ve been going out to lunch, hanging at night as well as enjoying coffee mornings with our matching coffee mugs! (Shannon, Ethan & Nicole) Gotta love roommate bonding! : )
Finally, the boy and I have bought tickets to see New Politics, Sleeper Agent and Magic Man so we are gearing up for that concert! If you’ve never heard of those bands, I have provided a sampling of music below for your listening pleasure!
Phew… So there we go! An update! 🙂 love all you readers. See you next week! I promise I’ll remember to post!
Neon Trees just premiered their new song this morning called “Sleeping with a friend”. The song is great and since it’s Friday it seems appropriate for all those single folks heading out tonight ; )
Hope you enjoy!
I had to spend this morning driving all over the place so I wanted to listen to some music to keep me awake. Since the boyfriend and I will be attending the Hellogoodbye, Metric & Paramore concert in a few weeks I decided to put that playlist on.
While listening to these songs I came across a song that I had completely forgotten about.
**Now before I go any further I have to put in a disclaimer here:: Do you ever have a song you love but you cannot figure out why? Well this is one of those songs for me. Every time I hear it I can’t help but laugh, mostly because of the lyric, “I was looking for a hooker when I found you” and the general ridiculousness of the song.
Albeit bizarre, I can’t help it. I honestly love this song so I wanted to share “Lost Kitten” by Metric with you on this snowy (sigh) humpday!
