How Do I Say This?

In case you were wondering, no I haven’t fallen off the face of the planet. I seriously had to take a few weeks off the blog-o-sphere because there was just so much going on.

Hmm… how do I say this? You know those weeks where you have so many thoughts that you can’t put them into words? Yea, that’s been my past 3 weeks…

The thing that’s been taking up my time has been the kitchen remodel we’ve been working on.

When we moved into this house, the first thing I noticed was that the previous owner had painted the kitchen counters with Epoxy (yes, the stuff you paint your garage floor with…complete with sprinkles). The second thing I noticed was that the sink was a corner sink, and that made washing anything larger than a plate a little tricky. So my dad and the Fiance took to wood working and extended our kitchen cabinets so that we could fit a normal sink.

The sink looks horrified at what we’ve done. lol

It took us a couple of months, and a few long nights….

but we have officially swapped out our old counter tops with nice granite ones!

I couldn’t be happier with the way they turned out! Next step, putting a new backsplash on, painting the cabinets and painting the kitchen… gotta love never ending house projects!

On that note, the Fiance and I have been doing nothing but wedding planning and house projects for the past few months, so we decided to take a Saturday and spend it doing fun things! We had ice cream, ate dinner outside, watched a movie and even went to an outdoor beer garden!

It was exactly what we needed to relax and get our minds off our task lists for the day.

Tonight the task list is back out in front of us and the wedding planning is in full swing, but I have to say it’s been pretty fun! I’ve learned that when it comes to weddings, everyone has their own opinion, their own ideas, their own way they believe things should be handled. Honestly, it gets a little exhausting trying to juggle that many voices, but if you can get past that and try to focus on the big picture, it goes a lot more smoothly.
